Homeowners should clean mini split filters every 2–4 weeks during heavy use — this is specifically designed to be a DIY task and most manufacturers provide instructions for doing it without tools. But filter cleaning doesn't address the indoor coil, the blower fan, or the condensate drain. These require professional cleaning once a year. Why does my mini split smell musty?

What is a "no-rinse coil cleaner" and is it safe?
