Why does my mini split smell musty?
Almost always mold growth on the indoor coil or blower fan. Mini splits recirculate room air across a cold, damp coil — perfect conditions for mold if the unit isn't regularly cleaned. A professional deep-clean including the coil and blower resolves this in most cases. If the smell returns quickly, the system may need more frequent cleaning.
