My elderly parent's AC stopped working. How quickly can you respond?

If the system can't be repaired same-day, we advise on emergency cooling options including local cooling centers operated by the City of Los Angeles during heat advisories.
Water is flooding from my AC unit. What should I do?
Shut the system off at the thermostat immediately to stop further condensate production. Then call us. A flooding AC unit usually has a completely blocked condensate drain causing the overflow pan to fill and drain into the ceiling or wall. The longer you run it, the more water damage occurs. This is a same-day service item.
Can a failed capacitor be why my AC stopped working?
Yes — capacitor failure is the single most common cause of sudden AC failure, especially on hot days. A failed run capacitor causes the compressor and/or fan motor to draw excessive current, overheat, and shut down on thermal overload. Capacitor replacement typically restores operation immediately. It's a 30-minute repair when we have the right capacitor on the truck — which we usually do.
