Overview
Los Angeles heat emergencies are increasing in frequency and severity. The combination of climate change, urban heat island effects, and an aging housing stock with deteriorating HVAC equipment creates genuinely dangerous conditions when a system fails during an extreme heat event. The National Weather Service's heat advisories for the LA basin are not abstract — heat-related illness and death are real outcomes when elderly people or people with cardiovascular or respiratory conditions lose air conditioning in their homes. We take emergency calls seriously and respond accordingly.
The San Fernando Valley — Burbank, Glendale, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Encino, Tarzana, North Hollywood — is particularly vulnerable to heat emergencies because Valley temperatures run 5 to 15 degrees hotter than the coast. Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley can see temperatures approaching 110°F on extreme days. A system failure at noon during a heat advisory in these communities is a situation that requires immediate response, not a morning callback.
On the other end of the spectrum, furnace failures during cold snaps — when Valley overnight lows drop into the 30s and Hollywood lows hit the mid-40s — are genuine emergencies for homes with elderly residents or infants. Gas furnace failures that involve the heat exchanger also represent a carbon monoxide risk that cannot safely be ignored overnight.

Do you really answer 24/7?
Yes. Call (323) 970-3113 at any time — 2 AM on Christmas, 4 AM on a Sunday. A technician answers and dispatches. We don't use after-hours answering services that take messages for morning.
How fast can you arrive for an emergency call?
We aim for 60–90 minutes for emergency calls within our primary service area (Hollywood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Burbank, Pasadena, Sherman Oaks). For outlying areas, we'll give you an honest ETA when you call.
What should I do if my CO detector goes off?
Leave the house immediately — take everyone including pets. Don't try to find the source. Call 911 once outside, then call us. Do not re-enter until both the fire department and our technician have cleared the building.
Can I run window units while waiting for emergency AC repair?
Yes. Portable or window AC units from Home Depot or Walmart can provide temporary relief. We recommend this for vulnerable household members during a heat advisory when there's any wait time.
What are the most common HVAC emergencies you respond to?
The majority of our emergency calls are: complete AC failure (capacitor or contactor failure — usually repaired same night), furnace not igniting in cold weather (usually ignitor failure — repaired same night), and thermostat failure (usually same-night fix or we provide a replacement thermostat on the spot).
Do you charge more for weekend or holiday calls?
We charge an $89 after-hours service fee for evening, weekend, and holiday calls. Our diagnostic and repair pricing doesn't change based on time of day — we don't double or triple rates for emergency calls.
What if I have a gas leak?
Leave the building immediately, don't operate any switches or electronics, call SoCalGas emergency line (1-800-427-2200) from outside, then call us. Do not re-enter until the gas company has shut off the gas and cleared the scene.
Can you service my HVAC brand?
We service all makes and models on emergency calls — Carrier, Lennox, Trane, Rheem, Goodman, Daikin, Mitsubishi, and all others. We carry common parts for all major brands.
