Comprehensive HVAC Service Call Fixes Issues on Ashby Ave, Los Angeles

Comprehensive HVAC Service on Ashby Ave

On January 9th, 2024, we were called to Ashby Ave in the beautiful neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA, to address some pressing HVAC problems. Our client was experiencing issues with their HVAC system, which included poor airflow, strange noises, and uneven temperature distribution. These are common problems that many homeowners face, and they can lead to discomfort and high energy bills if not addressed promptly.

Our team at LC Heating and Air Conditioning started by conducting a thorough inspection of the HVAC system. We checked for dirty air filters, which can significantly impact the system’s efficiency and indoor air quality. Dirty air filters can also lead to frozen evaporator coils and clogged drain lines, causing the AC unit to blow warm or hot air. To ensure optimal performance, we replaced the old filters with high MERV rating filters.

Next, we examined the refrigerant lines for any leaks. Leaking refrigerant lines can cause the system to lose its cooling capacity, leading to higher energy bills and discomfort. We used advanced leak detection tools to identify and repair any leaks, ensuring the system was properly sealed. We also topped up the refrigerant levels using R-454B, a more environmentally friendly option compared to traditional refrigerants like 410A and R32.

During the inspection, we discovered that the condenser and evaporator coils were dirty. Dirty coils can reduce the system’s efficiency and cause it to work harder, leading to mechanical wear and tear. We cleaned the coils thoroughly, which not only improved the system’s efficiency but also extended its lifespan. Regular maintenance of these components is crucial to prevent issues like short cycling and high energy bills.

We also checked the electrical components of the HVAC system, including the ignition system, pilot light, and thermostat. Electrical problems can cause the system to malfunction or not turn on at all. We tested the thermostat and found it was not functioning correctly. We replaced it with a Google Nest Learning Thermostat, which offers better control and energy-saving features. This upgrade will help the homeowner maintain a comfortable indoor environment while reducing energy consumption.

Finally, we inspected the air ducts for any signs of damage or leaks. Poorly designed or damaged ducts can lead to uneven temperature distribution and poor airflow. We performed duct sealing and repair to ensure the air was distributed evenly throughout the home. This step is essential for maintaining a comfortable indoor environment and improving the overall efficiency of the HVAC system.
